Before we come
- Shut off the water and disconnect the hoses. Leave a bucket and towel under them.
- Gas dryer? Have the gas line shut off and capped before we come. We don’t touch gas lines.
- Run the washer’s drain cycle so it isn’t full of water.
Where it goes
Washers and dryers are mostly steel, and scrap steel is one of the most recycled materials there is. They have no refrigerant, so unlike a fridge there is no extra handling and no extra fee.

Is there a fee for appliances?
Only for ones with refrigerant (fridges, freezers, AC units): $50 each. Washers and dryers have none. Washer, dryer and a fridge starts at $199: the 1/4 trailer price, $149 plus $50 refrigerant fee.
Do you disconnect the washer?
Please have the water shut off and the hoses off before we come, and a gas dryer’s line capped. Then we carry it out.
